The Project Doula grew out of Stephanie Arguello's public health work, where she saw brilliant, mission-driven teams stretched thin by complex projects and limited infrastructure. Together with founding members Erica Asti and Stanford Lopez, she shaped a consulting practice that pairs academic rigor with lived experience, strengthening organizations' capacity for sustainable impact.
Our doula-inspired approach guides organizations across the full arc of change, combining clear structure, relational consulting, and equity-centered practice. We prioritize psychological safety, shared power, and meaningful community voice, so teams can navigate difficult conversations, make thoughtful decisions, and design systems that reflect the needs of those most impacted.
As a Black- and female-owned, homegrown practice, we bring over five decades of combined experience in public health, nonprofit operations, and Agile project management. Our leadership collaborates closely with each client, building internal skills, clarifying roles, and creating durable systems that outlast any single project so organizations can grow with confidence.
